When beauty meets web3
NYX, an American cosmetics company founded in 1999 and acquired by L’Oréal in 2014. has created GORJS, the 1st ever beauty creator DAO.
NYX has already a very interesting Metaverse history.
They started in June 2022 during pride month using Web3 to celebrate diversity. In partnership with Sandbox and People of Crypto Lab they published a collection of avatars representing different sexual orientations, gender identification and makeup.
Just 6 months later they entered Roblox. This time their partner was iHearMedia. Their focus was this time on makeup.
Now, NYX has created GORJS, the 1st ever beauty creator DAO.
DAO means Decentralized Autonomous Organization and it is a community-driven entity without any centralized authority. As a very interesting web3 tool DAO is creating totally new perspectives for such projects.
